![]() ![]() The only after market parts involved with this are the AFE CAI, AFE Charge Pipe and the water meth kit after the throttle body. What the hell do I do? These quick connections are a mess to deal with. I even said, just replace the coolant line and quick connect and i'll reassemble the intake manifold, throttle body and CAI in their parking lot. Had it towed to another Ford dealership and they tell me because of my 'after-market parts' they don't want to touch it. I am unable to get a socket on the quick connect to remove and fix the rubber o-ring inside. I attempted to do this myself and got as far as removing the e-clip from the quick connect and pulling the line on the back of the engine. Myriad Ford EcoBoost engine issues have surfaced over the past several years, ranging from carbon buildup to coolant leaks in Ford’s 1.5L I-4 EcoBoost, 1.6L I-4 EcoBoost, and 2. a 21 MM socket is needed to remove the ones on the engine block. The quick connects on the turbos and on the engine block are of different thread sizes. It is the rubber o ring inside the quick connects that fail. One dealer quoted $1300 to fix the drivers side turbo coolant line that runs to the back of the engine where you can't reach. ![]() The tube from that (under it, pointing towards the engine) is completely dry. Just so you know, my coolant reservoir is NOT leaking. If that's what the problem is, what usually fails and what's the ballpark cost to repair? I'll probably let the dealer do it. It's all on the drive side and it appears to mostly be below the driver side turbo area. but not something that you need to pre-emptively fix. It explains the issues with the ecoboost engines, more precisely coolant intrusion in the head. I assume during my trip the turbo got really hot and probably caused something (a tube or something else) to get partially damaged and that's what is causing my leak? Doesn't seem to be leaking when sitting there with the engine off. So had rough cold start on my 2017 2.0 runs fine after that ,check engine light came on dealer told me at 53,000 Miles coolant leak in the cylinder will replace. I saw orange drops on the spot where the front drive shaft connects and a few other places in that area. Today when I got home I was a little low again and I removed that cover to change my oil. I looked down under the truck and noticed there were some drips from the front of that cover you have to partially remove to get to the oil drain plug. I've never had any coolant leaks before but on my big western trip with several 6 to 11 hour drives at highway speeds (75 to 90, depending on the state and speed limit), I noticed my coolant was a few inches below the low mark on the reservoir. ![]()
